Their tight arrangements, stellar musicianship, and an ability to delight fill the space.

Jerks of Grass, a Maine bluegrass band

Scroll

The majority of this band is comprised of gifted music instructors and that is how I got to know their music, as a student of the fiddle and cello. To experience the performance side of their worlds was a delight and inspiration for me.

The Jerks of Grass has earned Portland’s Best Album for their 2008 release “Come on Home”. Based in Portland, Maine, this high energy bluegrass band has been together since 1998!

In addition to fiddle player, Melissa Bragdon Caron, band members include bassist Brian Durkin, Kris Day on guitar and Carter Logan on banjo and dobro.

Melissa Bragdon Caron is a stellar fiddle player and such a kind, positive support as a music teacher. I am grateful to have landed in her musical sphere of influence. FMI on performances and lessons with Melissa, visit: https://www.melissabragdoncaron.com/.
